Riyadh Metro to be completed by end of 2023

The value of the Riyadh Metro in Saudi Arabia is a whopping $22.5 billion. The project will be completed by the end of 2023 or the start of 2024. The announcement was made by Prince Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Bin Ayyaf, the mayor of Riyadh. The mayor also stated that the Riyadh Metro is thought to be the biggest infrastructure project ever undertaken in an existing metropolis. The project, which is the largest public transportation network undertaking in the world, includes 176 kilometres of railway lines featuring driverless electric trains. Additionally, 40 percent of the train route will be underground, preserving the movement of people and goods in their natural state. According to Prince Faisal, there will be 6 lines and 84 stops spanning the network.

Prince Faisal also emphasised that the metro would help with the traffic issue, particularly as the vehicles are used for 90% of travel within the Saudi capital. To ensure the dispersion of population densities and traffic journeys through these centres, Riyadh will also create a modern transportation network and the development of more than one focal centre.
