Empathy in action: IPF Dubai’s commitment to every Indian in need

From legal aid to emotional support, the Indian People’s Forum volunteer force is rewriting the meaning of community welfare

In the heart of the UAE, the Indian People’s Forum (IPF) Dubai Chapter, in collaboration with the Indian Consulate, continues to illuminate lives through its unwavering commitment to community service and welfare. More than just a volunteer body, IPF Dubai Chapter has evolved into a lifeline for Indian expatriates—extending not only resources but also empathy, compassion, and hope.

Guided by an inspiring core team under the able leadership of Mr. Jitendra Vaidya (President-IPF, UAE), Uma Shankari (Convenor, Dubai Chapter), Sreerag Ji (Co-Convenor), Reeta Rathore (General Secretary),  and Manoj Pandey (Joint Secretary) — the chapter leads a wide range of CSR and welfare initiatives aimed at supporting Indians in distress. Their collective passion and dedication have made IPF a trusted name in the Indian diaspora across the UAE.

Support Beyond Finances

Life abroad often comes with unforeseen hardships. From sudden job loss, visa issues, and accommodation challenges to emotional breakdowns and legal complications—IPF Dubai Chapter recognizes the silent battles many expatriates face. The chapter goes beyond financial assistance, offering emotional and practical support, often becoming the ‘family away from home’ for those who feel stranded or alone.

Whether it’s helping a breadwinner find temporary sustenance, guiding a family through crisis, or simply listening without judgment—the IPF team stands as a pillar of strength and solidarity.

Emergency Relief Measures

One of the core pillars of IPF’s mission is to ensure no Indian goes hungry or homeless in the UAE. Whenever an individual or family is in crisis, the chapter arranges and distributes dry ration kits—ensuring food security until the person or family regains stability. The aim is simple yet powerful: as long as you’re in this land, you’ll never have to worry about food and shelter.

This service is not a one-time event but a sustained initiative, carried out with compassion and confidentiality, reaching workers, women, families, and individuals who might otherwise fall through the cracks.

The chapter also extends legal aid through a dedicated team of legal professionals who provide guidance and action in various cases. These include employment disputes, immigration issues, business concerns, and support for victims of domestic abuse, particularly homemakers and vulnerable women.

Understanding the emotional toll these situations can take, the IPF team also offers counseling support, creating a safe space for people to share their concerns and find guidance—without fear or stigma.

Strengthened by Unity

At the heart of the IPF Dubai Chapter lies a simple yet powerful belief: Together, we are stronger. From organizing blood donation camps, health drives, job assistance efforts, and awareness seminars to simply being present during someone’s time of need, the IPF Dubai Chapter continuously reinforces the values of compassion, integrity, and service.

Representing the IPF Dubai Chapter, Ms Uma Shankari in her statement echos the sentiments of each member: “We are here not just to provide services but to build connections, restore hope, and uphold dignity. Each life we touch is a step toward a stronger, more resilient community. As we continue our journey, we invite all those who wish to support, volunteer, or reach out for help to connect with us. Let’s continue to uplift one another and stand tall as a united Indian community in the UAE.”
